As we approach the end of 2016, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for those who have supported of the Blessed Marriage Project both through attendance at a retreat, and also through any donations. We hope that you have been inspired by what you experienced at the Energize! Couples Retreat to grow even closer as a couple.
Our goal at the Blessed Marriage Project is for the Energize! Couples Retreats to become sustainable so we can continue to serve our Blessed Couples of all generations far into the future.
Your Contribution is Vital to Keep the Romance Going
At this point, only gifts from people like you will allow the Energize! Couples Retreats to take place again. Our founders and donors, David and Mitsue Wolfenberger, have been investing over $100,000 a year underwriting our retreats since 2014. Last year, they took on the added challenge of addressing the epidemic of internet pornography amongst our young people, seeing this issue as the greatest obstacle in receiving the Blessing and to live lives of healthy intimacy. They contributed over $250,000 for both ministries in 2016, but that will not be sustainable for them in 2017.
After seven retreats serving over 210 couples from newlyweds to grandparents, these valuable events can only be sustained by contributions from a group of people. We’re hoping we can count you in!
Why these Retreats are Critical to Our Movement
On many occasions, a spouse has approached staff members at a retreat and confided that they had been ready to call it quits on their marriage, but was willing to attend the retreat as a last ditch effort. They testified that the weekend had saved their marriage and had given them hope that they could do things differently.
Your Donation Makes a Difference
Isn’t it gratifying to help a couple save their marriage? As one man said in his retreat testimony, “Taking the time to reflect on ways to improve our relationship is more valuable than anything in life. Having a happy wife for a lifetime is more important than working to pay off a 30-year mortgage.” We couldn’t agree more! A house is for now, but our Blessing is for eternity.
Any Size Donation Helps!
Even a $10 or $20 per month donation for one year can ensure the development of the BMP. If two hundred alumni donated $10 per month for a year, we would have $24,000–more than enough to sponsor the cost of a retreat!
We will be participating in the nationwide Giving Tuesday campaign on November 29, and one young couple has already pledged to match funds up to $10,000, which will double the amount of your donation regardless of when you give! If you miss Giving Tuesday, don’t worry–we will continue to reach out and accept donations as we strive to meet our goal by December 31. As always, your contribution is tax exempt and you will receive a receipt.
