On Saturday, July 9, the Colorado Family Church hosted a Parents Matching Preparation (PMP) seminar in Denver for parents interested in learning about the matching process. The seminar was taught by John Abelseth of the Blessing & Family Ministry.

Twelve families participated in this one-day program that was “great with concise content” and provided “many practical tools” revolving around the guidelines and resources available to support parents who are seeking a match for their sons and daughters. Throughout the program, Mr. Abelseth emphasized the importance of building strong relationships of trust between husband and wife and between parents and children. Parents left inspired to have “patience, trust, and love” and to work on “uniting with my spouse” and “listening to my children.”

Ayako Heller, a National Ministry Team member of the Blessing & Family Ministry, traveled from New York to offer translation and guidance for the Japanese speaking families.

The presentations were interspersed with lively group discussion and sharing. In the evening, the Fleisher couple, Gary and Alice, shared their experiences of matching their three children. Their son Yongil also shared about his matching experience.

The participants were unanimous in their appreciation for the knowledge and insights gained, sharing that “all materials were well developed compared to even a few years ago” and that “all my questions were answered.” Many felt new confidence in their ability to successfully support their sons and daughters in establishing healthy and happy marriages and families.
